My journey into the world of the paranormal kicked off with a bang—or rather, a spine-chilling encounter that rocked me to the core. Picture this: a wide-eyed kid, barely tall enough to reach the kitchen table, sneaking a midnight snack from a Halloween candy bowl. Innocent enough, right? Wrong.
Out of nowhere, this pure black hooded figure—straight out of a nightmare—materialized in the room, knocking over the candy bowl with a force that sent me flying. The candies I’d managed to snag were some of the projectiles, raining down on me in a surreal storm of sugary chaos after it dematerialized through the wall. Talk about a trick-or-treat surprise.
But instead of scaring me off, that encounter sparked something deep within me—an insatiable curiosity about the supernatural. It was like I’d been given a backstage pass to the weirdest show on Earth, and I couldn’t get enough.
Enter Ghost Adventures. This show became my lifeline to the strange and spooky, with Zak, Aaron, Billy, Jay, and Nick leading the charge into the darkest corners of the paranormal. Their fearless pursuit of the truth spoke to something primal within me—a desire to peel back the layers of reality and peek into the unknown.
One episode, in particular, hit close to home: Season 14, Episode 2 – Old Montana State Prison. Being a Montana native, the thought of ghosts haunting my own backyard sent shivers down my spine. But it also fueled my fascination, adding a personal twist to an already chilling tale.
And then there’s Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum—a place where nightmares come to life. I’ve dreamt of exploring its shadowy halls, braving the eerie artifacts that lurk within. Someday, I hope to make that dream a reality, dragging my wife along for the ride and maybe a few extra screams.
From that childhood encounter to my obsession with Ghost Adventures, my journey has been one heck of a ride. Each episode serves as a reminder of the mysteries that lie just beyond our grasp, waiting to be uncovered, one spine-tingling investigation at a time. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
