Protecting Personal News in an Oversharing World

You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

Honestly?
I usually keep it to myself.

Not because I don’t care — but because not everything needs an audience. Sometimes good news is better protected than broadcasted. It depends on what kind of news it is.

If my girlfriend told me we were expecting? That’s different. Certain people deserve to know. Family. Close friends. The ones who truly show up.

But lately, I’ve felt more protective of my personal life. It feels like information gets siphoned, repackaged, and sometimes even weaponized. The world is majestic — we can learn from each other — but we’re also living in a time where oversharing comes with consequences.

So I share intentionally.

Drama? Some people thrive on it.
I try to distance myself from it. But I’ve learned that bottling things up isn’t healthy either. If I don’t speak my mind when something weighs on me, I turn irritable… even spiteful. And that’s not who I want to be.

My problems alone don’t change society.
But how I handle them might.

Recently, some good news: I got monetized on Facebook. That felt like momentum. I’m grinding daily to monetize everywhere else (except YouTube — we have history 😂).

Back in 2008–2009, I actually had a monetized channel called mrawesome6906. Garage band days. Getting blitzed. Making chaotic songs that all sounded the same to me. A few early rap tracks too — long before AI sped everything up 110%.

Not all the news lately has been good though.

We lost our daughter at 18 weeks. We’ll be laying her to rest on the 24th. We had a name picked out. A future imagined. I wrote a song for her.

Sometimes amazing news and devastating news exist in the same season.

But I’m still building. Still connecting dots. Creating more content than ever. Exclusive stories. New drops. Trying to grow something real.

If you’re rocking with me, you know where to find me:

Some posts auto-publish, but I’m active.

Now I’m curious —

What’s the best news you’ve received recently?
Did you share it immediately? Or did you protect it first?

And if you’re getting solid engagement — drop a tip.
Replying helps. Conversation builds reach.

Let’s test the algorithm.

Are we real people here…
or is the dead internet theory winning? 👀
