Crafting Stories: Feedback and Suggestions Needed

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I get lost in the art of storytelling.

I’ve been working on a few stories lately, but I’ve found myself unsure of the direction I want to take with them. One story in particular, The Haunted Mirror, has been a challenge to shape. I was thinking about having the mirror follow the protagonist to her friend’s house after she gets dropped off, allowing the haunting to continue there. However, part of me wants the protagonist’s hysteria to escalate to the point where she ends up in psychiatric care after hitching a ride with the police to her friend’s house. Her mental unraveling would lead to this outcome.

Any feedback or suggestions to help clarify the direction of the story would be greatly appreciated!

I often find myself getting completely immersed in Splinterlands (especially when clicking through via an affiliate link). This card game is incredibly engaging, and I can spend hours trying to climb to the next rank. It’s a challenging auto-battler, and while I can make it to the Diamond League, I often get stuck in a cycle of winning and losing. Even with maxed-out summoners and units, it’s tough to break through consistently.

When I do play, much of my time gets split between Splinterlands and Sunflower Land. I highly recommend giving Splinterlands a try. They’re about to release a new set soon, and with it, cheaper card packs will be available. Plus, they recently launched a survival mode within the past month. This mode is brutal—you get one shot to play your strongest or weakest cards, but beware! If you lose, you’ll have to wait several days before those cards can be used again in any mode. Last season, I lost over 100 cards in survival mode, and many of them took a week or two to be usable again. The rewards are massive if you can climb the ranking system!

By joining Splinterlands through my affiliate link (https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=itzninjafool), both you and I will receive a bonus when you purchase a spellbook. The bonus includes 500 credits, which is equivalent to roughly 50 cents. While that may not seem like much, those credits can go a long way, especially with cards that tend to increase in value over time.

If you’re thinking about joining, I highly recommend investing in the newest set, Rebellion. Doing so will give you an edge when the next updates for Wild game mode are implemented. Once that happens, Chaos Legion cards will be cycled out of the modern format and moved to Wild mode.

I’ve been preparing for this upcoming shift by securing a majority of the newer cards. My focus now is on leveling them up over the next few weeks, ensuring that I stay ahead of the game and am ready when the changes go live.

Sunflowerland is an engaging farming game that recently introduced exciting new features. One of the biggest updates is the addition of seasons, each offering a unique selection of seeds available for purchase using in-game coins. The game is free to start, though progressing through levels can take some time. To advance, you’ll need to strategically plant seeds and complete daily quests to earn the coins necessary to keep growing your farm. It’s the kind of game you can set and forget, checking back when your crops are ready to harvest. I’ve been hooked on it! In just two months, I’ve already withdrawn 55 SFL. Then, I used that to diversify my polygon account a little bit more.

I hope you decide to take a look at the two games above. Both are crypto related games, not financial advice, if you do make the investments. I think they both have potentials to make some hard earned crypto. Also, SPS and DEC are still relatively cheap and I see value in the games provided above.

Also, please be sure to let me know the direction I should take with the story.

Thanks for reading my post! Have a great day!

Hey Chris, it’s been a minute since I commented on your blog, but your ideas for summertime and reflecting on your stories have been enticing, and I wanted to comment!

The story sounds absolutely chilling – I think delving into the mental mindbreak of the main character would be extremely interesting, if handled in a way where the writing is gritty, dark, emotional, and truly lets the reader settle into her continuing spiral. It would be so interesting to read – I have a thing for also reading and writing about character’s who aren’t perfect, or have a plethora of flaws and just can’t seem to get out of their absolute viscious cycle of toxicity.

    To be honest, I’ve also been getting back into writing, but more in the flow of fanfiction – Michael and Trevor from GTA V fanfiction nonetheless LOL – but slow burn stories of characters who are deeply flawed and unhinged just allow me to invoke a complete internal rawset of emotions onto them while also letting my mind just see these characters as who I see them as – perfectly unstable, gross old men who will never get better LOL. It’s a start, til I polish my writing more and can actually write something personal that I can feel proud of lol. :’) I bet we both have so many stories we want to share with the world, but it always seems like so little time lol! ^^;

Also, that Sunflowerland game seems so fun, I’m gonna have to check that out! Stardew Valley like mechanics, a little idle simulator, AND you can earn Crypto?! It’s like, sign me up! LOL I’m gonna have to give it a go. 🙂

Otherwise, I hope you all are doing well and Justin says hi lol.

Yeah, sunflower land is a game that requires a little bit of work. But, an idle farming game that you can check on from time to time. Nothing too fancy. But, it is kind of fun/challenging to expand your farm. It took me two months to get as far as I have. They definitely have been updating the game.

Also, I do believe you guys are on the right path. Just keep moving forwards in that direction. Tell Justin I said wazzzz up.

I think what I might do with that story…

Have the police take her to her friend’s house. Then after they arrive, the police will have to go back to her house in regards to a fire. Something like that. But I am not 100% sure. I would either like to do that or make it so the paranormal stuff follows her to her friend’s house.

I have been debating this for days now. I like the entire story so far. I like the character. But, I want to have a problem that occurs after she arrives at her friend’s house. Maybe the mirror is with her? Then crazy stuff starts happening. Idk. I am working on it. Just stuck. I may move onto another.
